CARP POOL - WIGAN
This small water makes up part of the Forster's pool collection of waters, situated in Aspul in Wigan this water offers an angler a secluded days fishing on a natural mature pond.  As you can see on the video below the water is very open to the elements which can effect the fishing. Early morning visits to this venue also offer the angler a chance to catch a glimpse of one of the elusive roe deer that live around this location.

RIXTON CLAY PIT - RIXTON
Situated on the outskirts of Warrington this water is one of many ex clay pits in the area to be flooded and is currently a SSSI(Site of Special Scientific Interest).  The water is one of the most atmospheric waters on the Warrington Anglers Card as you can see on one of the slides on the video, as with many waters I visit this water also offers the angler a chance to view a whole host of wildlife most notably a pair of buzzards that soar the thermals on warm summer days.

Known Species: Roach, Perch, Skimmer Bream, Tench, Carp and Pike.




BUDWORTH MERE - WAA CARD
Situated on the outskirts of Northwich these huge mere is reported to hold vast bream shoals as well as a sprinkling of carp.  The margins of this mere are really shallow with a bank fished pole at 13metres only finding a foot or so of water.  there is a drop off rumoured to be around 30 metres out where you need to be to get the bream.  I would recommend anyone visiting this venue to pack a heavy feader rod and wading gear as both are essential.

WOODSHAW RESERVOIR - WAA CARD
Situated close the the town centre of Wigan close to the Forster pools on the Warrington Anglers Card.  This pool is used on a Monday evening during the summer for the young anglers matches and is a great place to take youngsters to learn the art of angling due to its huge population of ever hungry roach.  This venue is an immaculate venue with its well mowed paths and well made clean pegs it truly is a gem of a water.  Fishing wise it offers the angler a whole host of species and can be fished really simply on both pole and rod a reel with no need to go further out than the edge of the reeds.
